[libcaca] meaning of signs

Hello,

I find that aalib and libcaca are great tools for various artistic tasks
but there's one thing I regret: when I use the software to render an
image, most of the characters used are special characters like arobace;
I would like the people who look at the image to be able to switch, in
some cases, from a general image perception to the meaning of the
sequences of signs implied. Surely libcaca is better shaped to reach
this goal - because of the amount of pixels used for background colors
for instance - but I have no idea how this could be done and even if we
wouldn't loose the ability to render the aspect of things. If the
software is mostly written in C I might be able to modify libcaca for my
purpose but I wanted to have and advice first.

So do you think that it might be possible to have libcaca choose random
or even selected sequences of signs in order to get a higher degree of
signification in certain parts of the images, and how?

Thank you in advance,

Emmanuel
