After processing his mail through base64 -d you get :

nice! in fact http://libcaca.zoy.org/toilet.html works fairly well,
although it looks like it uses
a different version of the code.

FYI, the dotless "j" used in your message appears on my screen much
more like a rotated "r". probably that is just a poor choice of fonts,
but it means all the l's in the input rotate to r's visually, which is
amusing but not the intended effect.
