[libcaca] [ANN] libcaca 0.2
Hello dear friends! I am happy to announce libcaca 0.2, codenamed
"after the flood". This version brings astounding new features to
maximise your entertainment. It is so good it makes libcaca 0.1 look
like AAlib when libcaca 0.1 was out. No kidding.
o 256 available colour pairs (instead of 16 colours)
o dithering of colour images of arbitrary depth and format
o cacaview, the ultimate ASCII image viewer
o mouse support in the ncurses backend
o all known endianness issues were fixed
Note that due to a bug in S-Lang, only 128 colour pairs are available
using this backend, hence ncurses is now the recommended backend. But
it's worth it, see for instance this before/after image:

You can download libcaca 0.2 from its homepage. The screenshots have
also been updated to illustrate the new rendering routines:

Source tarballs are available, as well as Debian packages. Users of
other platforms are encouraged to build from source and report issues.
Regards,

Sam.
